A time to raise awareness, reduce the stigma surrounding mental health, and remind people that no one should have to face their hardest moments alone.
Sometimes, the people who need support most are the ones who say the least. A simple check-in can matter more than we realize. Take a moment to reach out to the people you care about. Listen without judgment. Be present. Offer support, and remind them that asking for help is a sign that they do not have to carry everything by themselves.
If you are struggling, your feelings matter. Your life matters. And you do not have to navigate difficult moments alone. Reaching out, to a trusted friend, family member, counselor, healthcare professional, or crisis resource can be an important first step toward support, hope, and healing.
Suicide prevention is not limited to one month. It is part of building communities where people feel safe enough to speak, supported enough to ask for help, and valued enough to know that their presence matters.
This September and throughout the year, we can all help create spaces where people feel seen, heard, supported, and valued. Connection matters. Compassion matters. And sometimes, simply showing up for someone can make a meaningful difference. 💜
If you’re in the U.S. and need immediate emotional support, call or text 988 to reach the Suicide & Crisis Lifeline.
