A couple of weeks ago, I started at a new school—a Therapeutic Learning Center—and so far, it’s going really well! The smaller class sizes make a big difference for me, my school day is two hours shorter, and both my math and ELA teachers are really nice. Plus, I still get to ride the same morning bus as I did with my old school, which makes the transition easier.
Even when I have a tough time, my teachers understand me better and act quickly to help if I start feeling elevated. I feel comfortable being myself around my friends, and the support from my family is amazing. Being at this new school makes me feel like I belong and that I can succeed.
My new medication is also working well. The only downside is needing to get bloodwork—I’m not a fan of that part—but I know it’s important. We recently increased my dose, and I’m feeling really good now.
